Annie Lennox-Goddess Voice&Brilliant Artist
About Annie Lennox and Goddess Art
Annie Lenox has been an onstage image maker.. to which Lady Gaga even emulates. Ah the life of a music goddess, where others view and follow.
I paint goddess art, beautiful women goddess art, and oft times I paint my exotic women to the music of Annie Lenox. I have painted so many paintings to the music of Annie Lennox. I turn my boom box up to full blast and scare the neighbors I am sure! What an inspiration this woman is. She stands for talent being pursued and mastered.
Several years ago I saw her on Saturday Live singing "Why". At the end of that performance she sang/said the lyrics, "You don't know me, you don't know how I feel." I just felt stunned by it. I could not move or even breath.. I have been a 'major' fan ever since that song. I was before but the emotion she projected that night was so profound, so unusual that as I said, my breath was taken away.
Isn't that what creativity is all about? Moving someones emotions? Making them feel something? I think yes.. and Annie Lennox moves me.

Here are the lyrics to "Why"
How many times do I have to try to tell you
That I'm sorry for the things I've done
But when I start to try to tell you
That's when you have to tell me
Hey, this kind of trouble's only just begun
I tell myself too many times
Why don't you ever learn to keep your big mouth shut
That's why it hurts so bad to hear the words
That keep on falling from your mouth
Falling from your mouth
Falling from your mouth
Tell me...
Why
Why
I may be mad
I may be blind
I may be viciously unkind
But I can still read what you're thinking
And I've heard it said too many times
That you'd be better off
Besides...
Why can't you see this boat is sinking
Let's go down to the water's edge
And we can cast away those doubts
Some things are better left unsaid
But they still turn me inside out
Turning inside out turning inside out
Tell me...
Why
Tell me...
Why
This is the book I never read
These are the words I never said
This is the path I'll never tread
These are the dreams I'll dream instead
This is the joy that's seldom spread
These are the tears...
The tears we shed
This is the fear
This is the dread
These are the contents of my head
And these are the years that we have spent
And this is what they represent
And this is how I feel
Do you know how I feel?
'Cause I don't think you know how I feel
I don't think you know what I feel
I don't think you know what I feel
You don't know what I feel

Annie Lenox Quotes
A lot of music you might listen to is pretty vapid, it doesn't always deal with our deeper issues. These are the things I'm interested in now, particularly at my age.
Annie Lennox
Ask yourself: Have you been kind today? Make kindness your daily modus operandi and change your world.
Annie Lennox
Dying is easy, it's living that scares me to death.
Annie Lennox
I mean, I'm 48 years old and I've been through a lot in my life - you know, loss, whether it be death, illness, separation. I mean, the failed expectations... We all have dreams.
Annie Lennox
I want to branch out. I want to write. I write poetry. I want to see my children grow up well.
Annie Lennox
I was perceiving myself as good as a man or equal to a man and as powerful and I wanted to look ambiguous because I thought that was a very interesting statement to make through the media. And it certainly did cause quite a few ripples and interest and shock waves.
Annie Lennox
I would say that although my music may be or may have been part of the cultural background fabric of the gay community, I consider myself an outsider who belongs everywhere and nowhere... Being a human being is what truly counts. That's where you'll find me.
Annie Lennox
It's a very telling thing when you have children. You have to be there for them, you've got to set an example, when you're not sure what your example is, and anyway the world is changing so fast you don't know what is appropriate anymore.
Annie Lennox
Music is an extraordinary vehicle for expressing emotion - very powerful emotions. That's what draws millions of people towards it. And, um, I found myself always going for these darker places and - people identify with that.
Annie Lennox
Over the years, I was never really driven to become a solo artist, but I was curious to find out who I was as an individual creative person. It's taken some time, but now I feel I've truly paid my dues. I guess I'm at a point now where I'm more comfortable in my own skin.
Annie Lennox
The future hasn't happened yet and the past is gone. So I think the only moment we have is right here and no, and I try to make the best of those moments, the moments that I'm in.
Annie Lennox
There are two kinds of artists left: those who endorse Pepsi and those who simply won t.

When you're that successful, things have a momentum, and at a certain point you can't really tell whether you have created the momentum or it's creating you.

5 Ways to Not Feel So Stinkin' Old and Notice Life Before Our Very Eyes
poem by Kathy Ostman-Magnusen
Annie.. she's AGELESS! and to her I send tribute as well as offer this poem if mine in this lens in her honor.
FIVE ways to NOT FEEL OLD?
Is it really that hard?
Find an old picture
and look at it
hard
and for a very long time
Yikes!
Go ahead
you can say it out loud
it will feel a whole lot better!
Yes
loads of smiles
all the while growing older.
So What happened!?
no lines are seen
in past pictures
when we were young
so young
a... way
back...
then
singing other songs.
WHO was that woman
or
WHOS was that man
WHO was that girl
or boy
who the heck was that
so beautiful
and upon reflection
so outstandingly
grand?
Five ways to feel old
not really that hard
if you consider the past
years lived
and a past
hard
not easy
to restart.
So I was thinking
on this day
this very second
of life
arrayed
I want to stop that
talk
and with a bit of self shock
take in every second
of todays
glorious
yes I said
glorious
walk.
OK! So that is ONE way
backwards from what I did say...
You gotta live life
TODAY!
Embrace this very second
the NOW as they tell you
Take a deep breath
yes, this very moment
and second!
Done?
Did you do it?
Take in life's high
that full breath of fresh air
life's ride
and the magic it comes from?
Yes...
is that done?
Soo many things fade
as we let go.
Memories
too hard to embrace
time
just goes...
Just goes
youth
just fades.
Simplicity brings a thousand
and one
things
all we need do is embrace
each fragile kiss
and hold the fragrance
of lost
perhaps even neglected
years
we did not outrun.
Don't miss those elusive gifts
that once indeed brought us
to
a predictable
cheer.
TWO is clear
focus on what brings you
CHEER!
Be it grandchild
or first child
or great grand past the years child
those smiles
are indeed golden
gladly
I chose them.
Does life at times seems
stolen?
Feel as if lines are drawn
and you missed the simple
sounds of contented smiles?
Wait..
say a smile out loud!
Do it
have a silly day
that if you try will wash all cares
away.
Be silly for just one second
laugh out loud
at the mere suggestion
can you hear you
singing number THREE
LOUD!!
Look into your mirror
and see
You singing.
Of all the mountains we could cross
rivers flowing
memories lost?
No.. think again
this is not pretend
we have all crossed some pretty
spectacular
landscape bends!
This is a glorious world
yes?
My friend..
and it is FOUR
in the making
do not mistake it
LIFE lived
is spectacular and it is
YOURS.
FIVE is everything that feels alive
you eating breakfast
me writing
these simple lines.
YOU are remarkable
and you know what?
So am I!
Sooo instead of feeling old
feeling that mirror
looking back at you
be grand!
You are a legend
in waiting
and miracles are all around you
and me
Demand it of yourself to...
NOTICE
LIFE
at hand.

Annie Lennox - Blind Among The Flowers - by Rob Bell
Now, I have to say, that I would be revealing my age if I told you that I bought (and still have) one of the first copies of a 45rpm released by an obscure band called "The Tourists". However, this "single" has formed part of my life and for one particular reason - on it is a song called "Blind Among The Flowers" by an A. Lennox. A very powerful song. Now, being Scottish myself, perhaps I would like to boast of the strength I noted in the singing of this, then unknown, young "lass" from Aberdeen, but no. She was even then, in the 1980s in a class of her own. Since then Annie Lennox has developed beyond the borders of the small Scotland that cradled her and became a fully fledged international artist who now peruses the boulevards of cosmopolitan Paris.
Annie Lennox was born a star. But it was her relationship with Dave Stewart that cemented her persona, that gave her the gall to stand alone - not because of the love they had as a married couple (and functioning band as the Eurythmics) but as a foil against which she developed her real self as opposed to her stage persona.
Annie Lennox is the real thing! A world-renowned singer, a pop star, and a real woman. To understand her and the life she has lead is to see where we can also go. She recognizes no limits, neither musically nor physically, she is woman and she is strong. Annie Lennox will continue to be a reference point for many young female singers to follow and guide them in their careers for even in the nineteen eighties, she defined what female independence WOULD be. . . . and then sang about it!
About the author: I am a major fan of the British Pop scene from the late 70s, through the 1980s to the contemporary music scene! If you too want to share that independent spirit that Annie Lennox brought to the pop music scene and read more about her life as a diva then I recommend you read this fabulous book - Annie Lennox: The Biography.
