Rodin- Ahh That Torrid Love Affair With Camille Claudel

When ever I think of Rodin I think of Camille Claudel. The story of these two lives intertwined is full of intrigue. Romantic, tragic, all the while their lives circled around the art of sculpture. I have a couple other lenses on Camille Claudel who was an extraordinary artist in her own right. It is understandable that these two figures would have a torrid love affair when their paths met.

Rodin's work was not formulaic and thus was not fully accepted in his day. He did not achieve the acclaim expected but he still refused to change his style. He held true to his convictions of what art was to him.

I took a sculpture class once and the instructor was most enamored with Rodin's work. He pointed out that his work had deep pockets and that for every surface, the depth next to it is exaggerated. His work was very dramatic because of that .. in part. Obviously passion was his strongest tool.

Auguste Rodin's work is very passionate. That sometimes freaks people out or taps into a beauty they can share with the artist.

Rodin was not great to Camille Claudel. His jealousy would never honor her flight. That is what I think anyway considering the time.

and let me catch

my flowers?

and cherished its many different hues

change them to brown

adding your own shades

of red

and yellow?

for permission?

Just how well do I know you?

Let me ask

how far can I sigh?

How much am I allowed to feel by you?

How deep is my ocean

and I am now wondering

do I need to ask you

at all?

It's important

you see

or maybe you don't?

But I need I do know

I need to ask you

is it OK that I speak

am I OK to think my my own mind

before my words

are

spoke-en?

Hummm? Is ME

OK with YOU?

Will you..

OH!

Do I need to ask?

Will you allow me

to feel a snowflake

dance with the air

and be a ballerina

for magics sake?

Will you ALLOW me

is that a question

I need to ask?

Will you

allow my heart to sing

past the essence

of what is YOUR vision

and what are YOUR

instincts?

IF I tried to decide something new

would you

could you

let me

shine

through?

What if I were a shadow

that sang my own heart

and within my own being

knew

I was needed

to sing through

every single measure?

Would you

place your hands together

to applaud me?

Or is that just a ghost

passing

translucently

through?

There are soo many snowflakes

that bare no name

I am am wondering at this moment

could you

let me stand under them

until

I could

understand each frame?

Would you let me fly that far?

Or is our love

much too simple

that it cannot embrace

beyond a dream

to reach beyond

another galaxy

and my own magical star?
